We believe wireless/wireline service should be available to everyone, no matter their income. That's why we support the Lifeline program in Mississippi and Alabama. It helps those with low incomes and income-based benefits obtain a phone and communicate with friends and family.
Lifeline is a government benefit program that provides a monthly credit of $9.25 for wireless service that meets the minimum broadband standards or a monthly credit of $5.25 for wireless/wireline service that only meets the minimum voice standards. The minimum service standards are governed by the Federal Communications Commission (regulated by the Universal Service Administration Co. (USAC)) and can be found on the USAC website.
Please note: Only one Lifeline discount is allowed per household. To receive the Lifeline discount, you may have only one subscription per account. Only eligible consumers (that qualified through the National Verifier) may participate in the program, and lifeline service cannot be transferred from one person to another.
Wireless Service
In order to remain in compliance with the government regulated service standards, C Spire developed the Lifeline Assistance plan that offers 12GB of high-speed data for $55/month before the discount. This plan will update to meet or exceed the minimum service standards as needed. Please follow the "how to" instructions below to sign up for Lifeline Assistance. This plan is only available for customers receiving the Lifeline discount. Therefore, if you lose your Lifeline certification, your plan will revert to your previous plan or a comparable replacement.
Home Phone Service
For Lifeline customers, home wireline services are only available in Mississippi through Telepak Networks, Inc. In order to add the discount to your Telepak Networks account, you will need to verify eligibility through the National Verifier. Once the application is approved, you can contact our customer care team at 1.877.835.3725 for additional information regarding signing up for home phone service through Telepak Networks.
