When does the C Spire internship application process open and close?
How long do C Spire internships last, and when do they begin?
Typically, the C Spire summer internship program begins the first week of June and ends the last week of July, lasting eight weeks in total. Specific start and end dates are provided in the spring. However, it’s common for C Spire to extend internships to a total of nine or 10 weeks for interns who do excellent work and are needed for additional projects.
What does the interview process look like for C Spire internships?
While we spend the fall meeting with students and collecting applications, our review and interview process really kicks off in January. For most of C Spire internships, the interview process consists of a meeting with a recruiter over the phone, an assessment, and a final interview with the hiring manager.
What should I expect to do as a C Spire intern?
No coffee-runners and copy-makers here. Every C Spire intern completes a combination of learning, job shadowing, and real problem-solving work to improve the lives of our customers and the quality of our services. Day-to-day tasks will depend on which team you’re interning with. Additionally, you’ll get exposure to C Spire’s executive team and leaders throughout the business, as well as taking part in fun team-building events like the C Spire Ideathon.
Which teams at C Spire have interns?
We have interns across the entire business in areas including, but not limited to, software development, network operations, marketing, research, cybersecurity, finance, accounting, supply chain, customer support, quality assurance, home services, and billing.
Does C Spire pay Interns?
Absolutely. All our internships pay at or above market value. That’s because our interns do valuable work.
Where do C Spire interns physically work?
Most of our interns work at our headquarters in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Occasionally, we will have interns at our other office locations throughout Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee.
What are the qualifications to be a C Spire intern?
While some qualifications differ based on the area of business, all our internships require you to be enrolled and in good standing in an accredited university or college and be at least 18 years of age.
What does C Spire look for outside of major and GPA?
Outside of GPA and a student’s field of study, we look for extracurricular activities that may suggest leadership, a winning mentality, exceptional customer service, a passion for technology, and a deep-seated dedication to accountability and ownership.
After applying for internship, when can I expect to hear back?
You can expect to hear from C Spire in January or February. We receive several thousand applications each year, and it can take a few weeks for us to begin interviews. Our goal each year is to extend internship offers before March 1, allowing ample time to plan for the summer internship.
