The brand snagged gold awards for best cell phone and internet provider
RIDGELAND, Miss. (July 9, 2024) – C Spire, a diversified telecommunications and technology services company, announced today that it has won gold awards for best cell phone provider and best internet service provider as part of the Sun Herald’s 2024 Best of Coastal Mississippi award program.
The Best of Coastal Mississippi highlights and celebrates the businesses, people, and places coastal readers and residents submit votes for. More than 1,900 businesses, organizations, and individuals were in the running for the top three spots in 260 categories.
“We are thrilled to receive the gold award for best cell phone provider in the Best of Coastal Mississippi awards,” said Craig Jackson, general manager for C Spire’s wireless division. “C Spire is proud to serve our wireless customers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and provide them with the latest technology to keep them connected when it matters the most.”
C Spire, then operating as Cellular South, made the first phone call on its network in February of 1988 from Gulfport—the call featured recently retired NFL quarterback Archie Manning and Trent Lott who represented Mississippi in the U.S. House of Representatives at the time.
C Spire has wireless retail stores in Bay St. Louis, Biloxi, D ’Iberville, Gulfport, Lucedale, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, Picayune, Waynesboro, and Wiggins.
